Adjusting Settings Through Control Panel | Turning Show Sounds On and Off

 

When ShowSounds is on, you can see captions for speech or other sounds that are parts of your computer program.

On the Start menu:

n         Point to Settings.

n         Select Control Panel.

Display the Start menu by pressing CTRL+ESC (or the Windows logo key.)

n         Move to Settings by pressing S.

n         Select Control Panel by pressing C.

In Control Panel:

n         Double-click Accessibility Options.

In Control Panel:

n         Select the Accessibility Options icon by using the arrow keys.

n         Press ENTER.

In the Accessibility Options dialog box:

n         Select the Sound tab.

In the Accessibility Options dialog box:

n         Select the Sound tab by pressing CTRL+TAB.

On the Sound tab:

n         To turn on ShowSounds, select the Use ShowSounds check box.

OR

n         To turn off ShowSounds, clear the Use ShowSounds check box.

n         Select OK.

On the Sound tab:

n         To turn on ShowSounds, select the Use ShowSounds check box by pressing ALT+H.

OR

n         To turn off ShowSounds, clear the Use ShowSounds check box by pressing ALT+H.

n         Press ENTER.

To close Control Panel:

n         On the File menu, select Close.

To close Control Panel:

n         Press ALT+SHIFT+C.
